If you want something more thrilling than the regular trekking journey then try out the Everest Base camp with Island peak climbing. The Everest Base camp with Island peak climbing is a collaboration of a journey which is climbing the Everest base camp and the Island peak climbing. The Island peak is named as Imjatse Himal as it is located hidden within the scenic Imjatse valley. Island peak (Imjatse Himal) towers above high Imjatse valley at the height of 6,189m from the summit where you can enjoy a sweeping panorama of Mt. Everest-Lhotse-Nuptse-Lhotse Shar-Amadablam-Amphu peaks as far to Mt. Makalu towards the east with other range of mountains.
The trek to the Everest Base Camp with Island Peak starts from a flight to Lukla. The trekking path will go through the Namche Bazar, Tengboche and many other villages where we will see inherited Sherpas were busy and colorful Saturday Market is held every week. And while we continue our trek, we will be led to Tengboche Monastery which has a heartwarming view to see from. As we continue further leaving the tree lines behind towards pure wilderness within the arid and barren terrain of ice and glaciers at Everest base camp, we will be blessed with the time fair enough to enjoying views on a great climb on top Kalapathar with close views of Everest.
Gradually we keep going to the destined place of this trek which is the Island Peak base camp which grants a classic climb on top of its summit, the climb is graded as PD + taken from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification, where all members should be physically fit and in sound health to conquer the top of Island peak, which is a straightforward climb with some technical skills required.
Our journey ends here and our adventure leads you back to Lukla for a scenic flight back into hustle and bustle city life of Kathmandu, after a glorious adventure of life experience on Everest Base Camp & Island Peak Climb.
When the thing called difficulty comes in your mind, just know that Island Peak is not that easy as other trekking trails because the ones who don’t have any experience with climbing to higher altitudes should fully be prepared, and understand the casualties of reaching for a higher altitude. Be fully prepared for climbing or physical obstacles during the trek. And also keep in mind that with the increase in elevation the amount of oxygen present in the atmosphere is less.
