10 Things to do in Everest Base Camp Trek
Everest Base Camp Trek is lifetime opportunity to enjoy the majestic scenery of world high mountains including Mt. Everest. Every year, thousands of tourist come to view Everest from closer. It is definitely one of the best place to visit. Therefore, one need to make good plan and effort before visiting Everest Base Camp.
I recently had made my trip to Everest Base Camp Trek. On basis of my experience, I just want to let you know the things that you should not miss during the trip to Everest Base Camp. By the way, it took me 13 days to figure out the below things. So these are also not in order.
Snap celestial view of Lukla Airport
In fact, KTM-Lukla flight is not always sure, because weather condition in the himalayas might be sudden harsh. So in first, you pray for KTM-Lukla flight in time. Fortunately, if flight goes well, then just do not forget to take celestial picture of Tenzing Hilary Airport and the surrounding scenario.
Hike up to Everest View Hotel and Have a hot cup of tea
Most of the people do stay two nights in Namche in terms of acclimatization in the higher altitude. So, on your very next day in Namche, you can hike up to Everest View Hotel. It only takes around 1 hour to reach the Hotel. I am pretty sure, you will enjoy wonderful scenery of the Himalayas including the highest Mt. Everest. Sitting on a chair, having a cup of tea/coffee and enjoying the remarkable scenery of mountains make you feel different.
Tengboche Monastery is the traditional and cultural reflection of Sherpas. It is considered as a holiest place in the Khumbu Region. In this monastery, praying ceremonies are carried out in the morning and evening on daily basis. Inside the praying hall, you will experience peace and harmony.
Take a picture of Mt. Amadablam
When you are in Tengboche, do not forget to snap extravagant picture of Mt. Amadablam. Amadablam mountain is a technically very difficult mountain to summit it.
Explore Sherpa Museum
I love to visit museums. And I must say that you should manage your time to visit Sherpa Museum which is located at east of Namche.
Take a selfie in Kalapathar
Although our ultimate destination is Everest Base Camp, basically, we also hike up to Kalapathar which is 5545m above from the sea level. Kalapathar is the last destination from where you can experience the view of Mt Everest Closer and clearly. So, just take your selfie stick and snap a selfie in front of the Mt. Everest and all its neighboring peaks.
Snap Majestic Panoramic View of Himalayas and Go pro video shooting
On the way, you can grab pictures of several things like wild animals and other natural beauties. So that, you have to capture those things as a memories. On among them, majestic panoramic scenery is most important which you should not miss out. Likewise, go pro video shooting of the trip also.
Write your name on stones of the EBC
There are lots of stones generated by Khumbu Ice-fall and glacier. So, you can write your name on any one of them. However, I am not sure it will last forever. But you can be hopeful that it will last for long time. It also brings smile on your face.
Crossing old bridge below Namche
Basically, there are two bridges one the way to Namche. Old is above the new one. I recommend you to follow old bridge on your way down. I do not want to recommend to follow old bridge on your way uphill because you need to go more up.
Keep the Himalayas Clean
If you have recently visited Everest, then you may feel increasing dirt in the Himalayas. So I would like to request you not to use and throw plastic materials like bottles and bag recklessly. Just help us to make Khumbu clean.
