Mount Everest is the highest peak on Earth (8,848.86 m (29,032 ft). It is located in the Himalayas, between the Indian and the Eurasian tectonic plates. Mount Everest belongs to the Mahalangur range, which forms the border between Nepal and Tibet. On the Nepal side, Everest is part of the Sagarmatha National Park in the Khumbu region. Treks and Tours to see Mount Everest

It is possible to reach Mount Everest from Tibet. Nonetheless, most visitors come to see Everest from the more accessible Nepal side. The most famous trek to the foot of Mount Everest is the trek to Everest Base Camp at 5400 meters above sea level. The trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp and back is about 130 km long and takes around 11 days. Those on a tight schedule can combine their trek with a helicopter tour. The final push to the summit takes around 7 days.
