Day 1-4 Preparation for Trip.
From your day of arrival to the fourth day, you will be preparing for the trip and also explore Kathmandu. You will visit several UNESCO World Heritage Sites and other tourist places. Preparation includes taking all the permits and completing visa works. You will arrange gears along with the help of your guide. On the first day, you will have a welcome dinner organized by the company. Other days only breakfast will be provided.
Day 5 Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (137km, 7 hrs).
Today, you will drive to Syabrubesi. The drive will be long and scenic. Upon reaching Syabrubesi, you will explore around and end your day with a delicious dinner.
Day 6 Syabrubesi to Kyirong (40km, 4-5hrs).
After a quick breakfast, you will drive to Kerung/Kyrong border that is 15 km away from Syabrubesi. After completing some formality, you will further drive for an hour to reach your last stop. You will later visit Paba Temple located at 2,850 m. It is a Gelugpa temple built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo on the request of his beloved Nepali wife, Princess Bhrikuti.
Day 7 Kyirong to EBC.
Today, the drive will take you to Everest Base Camp passing through Peikutso Lake. On the way, you will visit the highest Rongbuk monastery, at Rongbuk. Throughout the drive, you will get to see excellent views of the Himalayan mountains and tempting landscape. After spending some time at the base camp, you will drive to Tingri for a night stay.
Day 8 Everest Base Camp to Sakya.
Along with enjoying breath-taking sceneries, you will drive to Sakya. If the weather is clear, you will witness superb views of Mt. Everest and several other mountains. Crossing torrent and lofty mountains, you will pass by wild grassland and reach Sakya.
Day 9 Sakya to Shigatse.
You will visit the Sakya monastery established in 1073 is the principal monastery of the Sakya sect of Tibetan Buddhism. This monastery is the seat of the Panchen Lama, Tibet's second highest incarnation. After that, you will drive to Shigatse, where you will visit the famous Tashi Lhunpo monastery. This monastery holds the largest statue of Jampa (future Buddha) in the world.
Day 10 Shigatse to Lhasa via Gyantse.
After a quick breakfast, you will begin driving towards Gyantse is a traditional town in between Lhasa and Shigatse. From here, you will cross Karola Pass (5,015 m) and Kambala Pass (4,785 m) along with gorgeous Yamdrok Lake and Brahmaputra (a river) to reach Lhasa.
Day 11 Lhasa Tour - Potala Palace and Johkang Temple.
It is a sightseeing day in Lhasa. You will visit the famous Potala Palace built in 637 AD by King Songtsen Gampo. It is the former home of the Dalai Lama on top of a single hill. From here, you will visit Ramoche Monastery and then to Norbulingka. Norbulingka is the summer palace of Dalai Lama. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the largest man-made garden in Tibet.
Day 12 Lhasa Tour - Sera & Drepung Monastery.
This day is also dedicated to sightseeing in Lhasa. After a delicious breakfast, you will drive 5 km north of Lhasa to visit the most beautiful monastery of Lhasa, Sera Monastery. Back in time, this monastery used to be a shelter for more than 5,000 monks. Further, you will visit Jokhang Monastery. Here, you will see the golden relic of Sakyamuni Buddha, gifted by Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo. Later, in the day, you will explore Barkhor Market and end your day doing shopping.
Day 13 Depart from Lhasa.
Today, you will head back to Kathmandu or your next destination. One of our representatives will drop you at the Airport as per the further plan.
