As comparison with other seasons, winter season is not good season for trekking in Himalaya. However, there are some trekking routes which are considered as good for winter. All these are short treks as well as of lower elevations. The weather is dry and temperatures are colder in this time.
Because winter is considered as off season, it is easy to find bed in tea houses and room price in hotel and lodge might be decreased by the great bargaining. There will be less number of trekkers in the trekking routes. Despite of cold nights, mountain views in sunny days are best in winter.
Indeed, the lower elevation of Nepal is not much colder. The higher you go, the colder you feel. The trekking below 4000m elevation will be comfortable and safer.
Everest View Trek
