Trip Overview

The Everest Three Passes Trek is arranged by Go For Nepal. This three week long trek offers great adventure for trekkers and climbers alike.

Namche Bazaar, situated at a height of 3440m, is the gateway to the world’s highest mountain. Namche is the biggest ethnic village, mainly inhabited by the Sherpa people, who follow the Tibetan Buddhism religion. Here, one is offered the opportunity to acclimatize in readiness for the heights you will achieve on the trek ahead of you. Namche Bazaar, once a trading post, is a unique market, where trekkers can source a wide variety of local items or necessities for their trek. On Friday evenings and Saturdays, specialised stalls are put up in the marketplace. Other attractions the area has to offer is the famous Namche Monastery, Namche library and a Museum dedicated to showcasing the Sherpa way of life.

The trek also incorporates Gokyo Valley, Gorakshep, Kalapatther and Lukla.

The Gokyo Valley is an amazingly beautiful place, the entire valley setting – including Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri peak will take your breath away. From the Gokyo Valley, impressive peaks like Cho Oyo, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu, all amongst the highest in the world, are visible. Trekkers climb the Gokyo Ri Peak (at a height of 5480m) and cross the Cho La Pass whilst enroute to Gorakshep.

Gorakshep is a village in the Sagarmatha National Park. The local inhabitants of this region are the Sherpa people, who make their living by guiding and mountaineering. Gorakshep is also the original base camp for Everest.

The hike to Kalapathar begins at Gorakshep and Kalapathar itself offers a fantastic viewing platform on which to enjoy the sight of Everest and other peaks such as Nupste II, Changtse and the North Face of Lhotse.
